Publication Ethics

Jurnal Dekonstruksi’s publication ethics are based on Committee Publication on Ethics (COPE) best practice guidelines for journal editors.

1. Confidentiality:
  • Authors:
    Authors must not disclose submitted manuscripts to others without explicit consent from the journal. 
     
  • Editors and Reviewers:
    Editors and reviewers must maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and review comments, protecting intellectual property and research data. 
     
2. Ethical Peer Review:
  • Reviewers:
    Reviewers should provide constructive feedback, avoid bias, and promptly complete review assignments.
  • Editors:
    Editors should select appropriate reviewers and handle reviewer comments fairly and transparently. 
     
3. Conflict of Interest:
  • Authors, Editors, and Reviewers:
    All parties involved should disclose any financial or personal interests that could potentially influence the review or publication process.
  • Editors:
    Editors must recuse themselves from evaluating manuscripts if they have a conflict of interest with the author(s) or the research topic. 
     
4. Informed Consent:
  • Authors: Authors must ensure that they have obtained informed consent from research participants when applicable, particularly for human subjects. 
     
5. Data Integrity and Reproducibility:
  • Authors:
    Authors are responsible for presenting accurate data, ensuring the reproducibility of findings, and providing access to underlying data if requested.
  • Editors and Reviewers:
    Editors and reviewers can request raw data to assess data integrity and reproducibility. 
     
6. Authorship:
  • Authors:
    Authors should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the research.
  • Authors and Editors:
    Authors should ensure that all co-authors have seen and approved the final version of the manuscript before submission. 
     
7. Plagiarism and Originality:
  • Authors:
    Authors must present original work and properly cite or quote the work of others.
  • Editors and Reviewers:
    Editors and reviewers should be vigilant in detecting plagiarism and ensuring originality. 
     
8. Transparency:
  • Authors:
    Authors should be open and honest about any potential biases or conflicts of interest. 
     
  • Editors and Publishers:
    Editors and publishers should be transparent about their editorial processes and policies. 
     
9. Ethical Considerations in Research:
  • Animal Experimentation: Authors using animals in research must adhere to ethical guidelines and ensure humane treatment. 
     
  • Data Manipulation: Authors must not fabricate or manipulate data. 
     
  • Bias and Discrimination: All parties involved in the publication process should avoid bias and discrimination. 
     
10. Publication Ethics Misconduct:
  • Authors, Editors, and Reviewers:
    If ethical misconduct is suspected, it should be reported to the journal editor or publisher. 
     
  • Editors and Publishers:
    Editors and publishers have a responsibility to address and resolve any reported misconduct, often using guidelines from the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
